Stakeholder Survey - Parks Development Cost Charges
The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) is reviewing the possible implementation of Parks Development Cost Charges (DCCs) in Electoral Areas A, B, G and H. The new Parks DCCs would not be applied to any development outside Electoral Areas A, B, G and H.
DCCs are fees collected from land developers, on a user pay basis, to help fund the cost of the new infrastructure and parks needed to service new development. DCCs help ensure developers pay their fair share of the costs required to develop new infrastructure and park improvements. The RDN has identified park development projects that need to be constructed to support the additional demands generated by new residential development over the next 20 years. The RDN has proposed a revised DCC program with rates to help off-set these costs and would like your feedback.
Please use the Background Information Sheet provided in this package to help complete the survey. Part A of the survey is for all stakeholders, and Part B of the survey is only for developers. If you are not a developer, please skip questions #8 & 9. A general comment section has been provided for all stakeholders at the end.
