Blueback Community Park Property Addition - Alternative Approval Process
Consultation has concluded
Updates:
August 15, 2022: The property purchase of 3427 Tyee Cresent as an addition to Blueback Community Park is complete.
February 22, 2022: The property purchase and the Alternative Approval Process for the acquisition of the property at 3427 Tyee Crescent as an addition to Blueback Community Park in the Fairwinds neighbourhood of Electoral Area E is complete.
As funding for this acquisition requires borrowing, affected electors had to approve the following bylaws through the Alternative Approval Process before the new parkland purchase could proceed:
Bylaw No. 803.07 - A Bylaw to Amend Regional District of Nanaimo Electoral Area E Community Parks Local Service Establishment Bylaw No. 803, 1990, and
Bylaw No. 1844 - A Bylaw to Authorize Borrowing for the Acquisition of Parkland in Electoral Area E.
The Alternative Approval Process for these bylaws ran from January 5th to 4:00 p.m. on February 14th. Residents of Electoral Area E who OPPOSED the proposed bylaws submited an Elector Response Form during this time period and residents who SUPPORTED the bylaws did not need to take action.
