The draft Recreation and Parks Master Plan will guide recreation services on Gabriola Island and parks services across Gabriola, Mudge and DeCourcy Islands for the next ten years.
Shaped by input from residents, community groups and partners—gathered through open houses, interviews and a community survey—and developed with the support of the Area B Master Plan Advisory Committee, the draft plan reflects local priorities and outlines key strategies for the future.

The feedback will be compiled, summarized, and presented in a "What We Heard" report and posted on this project page in the coming weeks.
The detailed findings from the research and engagement will be presented to the Master Plan Advisory Committee in November and will be the foundation for the development of the master plan.
The next public engagement session will be in April 2024 where the community can review the draft master plan.

The survey will be open until the end of day on September 29, 2023.
There are 3 ways to complete the survey:

SurveyGabriola Island residents will have received the postcard with a unique access code in the August 2 edition of the Gabriola Sounder. Mudge and DeCourcy residents will have received a letter via mail in early August.
