This group of individuals initially came together because they shared a passion for fly fishing. Their goal is to promote the art of fly fishing as well as stewardship for the environment necessary to facilitate the sport. The non-profit club hosts a variety of fly related clinics for its members and engages the general public through supporting community events such as Rivers Day and BC Family Fishing Day. When their two sampling groups aren't out water quality monitoring as part of the RDN Community Watershed Monitoring Network, they are working on habitat restoration or fisheries enhancement projects. A number of the members were involved in creating the by-pass channel in Bowen Park, allowing migrating coho salmon to avoid the barriers of the Millstone River. They plan to continue to do more restoration on the Millstone including bank stabilization and planting native plant species along the riparian area of the stream.
